BAGUIO WELCOMES PALESTINIAN AMBASSADOR, REAFFIRMS SUPPORT FOR HUMANITARIAN DIALOGUE

Baguio City welcomed Ambassador Mounir Y.K. Anastas of the State of Palestine during a courtesy visit to City Hall on July 8, underscoring the importance of dialogue and humanitarian awareness.

Mayor Benjamin Magalong received Ambassador Anastas, who was accompanied by Deputy and First Secretary Ziad Bedaiwi, during the visit to the Summer Capital.

According to the city government, discussions focused on creating safe spaces for informed conversations on the humanitarian situation in Palestine and encouraging greater public awareness, empathy, and community engagement on global humanitarian issues.

The meeting also highlighted the value of international cooperation and people-to-people exchanges in promoting mutual understanding and respect among communities.

Magalong expressed appreciation for the ambassador's visit, saying it reflects Baguio City's commitment to fostering international friendship and constructive dialogue.

"We hope that this engagement will help strengthen ties between Baguio City and the State of Palestine while promoting the values of peace, compassion, and respect for human life," the mayor said.

The courtesy visit forms part of the city's efforts to strengthen international relations while encouraging discussions on shared humanitarian concerns.
