“GRIM REAPER” ON HOSPITAL ROOF: MAN ARRESTED AFTER ALARMING PATIENTS IN UK

A 26-year-old man was arrested and fined after climbing onto the roof of a hospital in the United Kingdom while wearing a costume resembling the Grim Reaper, alarming patients, visitors, and hospital staff.

The man, identified as Leon Gillespie, climbed onto the roof of Ysbyty Glan Clwyd Hospital in North Wales on June 6, wearing a black hooded outfit and carrying an object that appeared to resemble a scythe. He reportedly stayed on the roof for around 50 minutes, looking down at people inside and around the hospital.

Police officers and firefighters responded to the scene and safely removed Gillespie from the roof. He was later charged with causing a nuisance or disturbance on National Health Service (NHS) property.

During his court appearance, Gillespie pleaded guilty to the offense. He claimed that his costume was not meant to represent the Grim Reaper but was actually intended to look like a bird or crow.

Authorities also revealed that Gillespie had admitted to two previous theft offenses involving stolen pet supplies and supermarket items before the hospital incident.

The court ordered Gillespie to pay fines and costs totaling hundreds of pounds. Hospital officials also reiterated their zero-tolerance policy toward any behavior that disrupts the safety and peace of patients and medical workers.

The unusual incident quickly gained attention online, with many people reacting to the bizarre sight of a “Grim Reaper” figure appearing on a hospital roof.
