The House Committee on Ethics has recommended the expulsion of Cavite 4th District Rep. Kiko Barzaga, citing continued “disorderly behavior” despite previously serving two separate 60-day suspensions.

According to Committee Chair Rep. JC Abalos, the panel found Barzaga violated House rules and the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees. The committee said another suspension would likely no longer deter the conduct, which it said has continuously reflected negatively on the image of the House of Representatives.

The recommendation will be elevated to the House plenary, where a two-thirds vote of all members is required to expel a lawmaker.
