The House Committee on Justice on Monday unanimously approved the committee report and resolution containing the Articles of Impeachment against Sara Duterte, with 55 out of 55 members voting in favor, according to lawmakers.

The approval follows the panel’s earlier finding of probable cause to impeach Duterte, which was also backed unanimously during previous hearings.
With the committee report now approved, the Articles of Impeachment will be transmitted to the House plenary for consideration. Once endorsed by at least one-third of all House members, the case will move to the Senate, which will convene as an impeachment court.
The complaints against Duterte include allegations such as misuse of public funds, unexplained wealth, and threats against top government officials—claims she has repeatedly denied, describing the process as politically motivated.
The development marks a critical step in the impeachment process, with lawmakers expressing confidence that sufficient votes may be secured in the plenary to move the case forward.
