Malacañang maintained that the arrest warrant issued against Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa in connection with the International Criminal Court (ICC) case remains valid.

Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro said the government recognizes the validity of the warrant following the Supreme Court’s denial of Dela Rosa’s plea seeking temporary protection against its implementation.

According to the Palace, the Department of Justice (DOJ) and other concerned government agencies are handling the necessary legal and operational steps regarding the matter.

Dela Rosa is facing allegations of crimes against humanity before the ICC in connection with the Duterte administration’s anti-illegal drug campaign. The senator has denied wrongdoing and questioned the ICC’s authority over the case.

The DOJ earlier said law enforcement agencies may proceed with efforts to serve the ICC arrest warrant after the Supreme Court rejected Dela Rosa’s request for a temporary restraining order.

Meanwhile, authorities emphasized that any action involving the senator will follow proper legal procedures. The government has not announced any completed arrest of Dela Rosa, and officials continue to coordinate on the implementation of the warrant.
