PASSENGER FOUND DEAD FLOATING IN BATANGAS WATERS

A male passenger drowned after reportedly falling overboard from a vessel in Isla Verde Passage, Batangas City, yesterday, May 1.

According to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), the substation received a report about the incident, and the vessel’s crew immediately retrieved the victim.

Rescuers and a medical team attempted to revive him, but he was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.

The PCG said the victim fell after leaning against a railing on the upper deck, with no prior concerns reported.

They assisted his family and coordinated with the shipping company to transfer his remains to Bulalacao, Mindoro.

Authorities reminded passengers to strictly follow sea safety protocols.
