A Philippine Military Academy cadet from Cavite has graduated from the prestigious United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point, marking another milestone in the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ international military education program.

Cadet First Class Renzo Jamir C. Almodovar, 22, an original member of PMA “SIKLAB-LAYA” Class of 2025, graduated from USMA Class of 2026 on May 22 in West Point, New York.

Almodovar completed a Bachelor of Science in International Affairs with a focus on Strategic Studies after undergoing four years of military and academic training in the United States under the PMA Foreign Pre-Commission Training program.

During his stay at West Point, he earned several distinctions including the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge (Gold), Norwegian Foot March Badge (Silver), Dean’s List honors, and the USMA Recondo Qualification.

Following his graduation, Almodovar is set to join the Philippine Army and plans to serve in the Infantry. He also aims to qualify for the Scout Ranger and Special Forces units while pursuing specialization in Military Intelligence.

Almodovar is the son of Montano B. Almodovar, Chief of Staff of the AFP Strategic Command and a member of PMA “BANTAY-LAYA” Class of 1994.

The PMA said Almodovar’s achievement reflects the academy’s continuing commitment to leadership development and international military education opportunities for future Filipino officers.
