PMA CADETS SELECTED FOR ELITE MILITARY TRAINING IN INDIA

Two Philippine Military Academy (PMA) cadets are set to represent the country in India after being selected for an international military training program that will allow them to continue their education at one of Asia’s leading defense institutions.

Cadet Third Class Tyron D. Esternon of Bulacan and Cadet Third Class Rhadjan Louis S. Erta of Iloilo paid a farewell call to PMA Superintendent Vice Admiral Caesar Bernard N. Valencia on June 15 ahead of their deployment to the National Defence Academy Air Force in India under the Foreign Pre-Commissioning Training with India (FPTCI) program.

The opportunity places the two cadets among a select group of future military officers who will undergo training overseas, exposing them to foreign military systems, leadership approaches, and operational practices while strengthening defense ties between the Philippines and India.

According to the PMA, the deployment forms part of its continuing efforts to develop globally competent officers capable of operating in an increasingly interconnected security environment. The program also supports broader security cooperation initiatives between the two countries.

The academy said the training will help prepare the cadets to become future Armed Forces of the Philippines officers equipped with international experience, professional competence, and a deeper understanding of regional defense partnerships.
