VP SARA IN THE HAGUE AS SENATE IMPEACHMENT TRIAL ENTERS NEW PHASE
Vice President Sara Duterte is currently in The Hague, Netherlands, amid the ongoing impeachment trial before the Philippine Senate, according to her defense counsel, Michael Poa.

Poa confirmed that he has already informed the Vice President about the Senate Impeachment Court's decision to issue subpoenas for her bank and tax records as part of the proceedings.
According to Poa, Duterte's response was brief but confident:
"Okay, well, you know what to do naman."
The defense counsel also assured the public that the Vice President is expected to return to the Philippines soon to continue addressing matters related to the impeachment case.
Despite her temporary stay abroad, Poa emphasized that Duterte remains fully informed about the developments in the trial and is in constant communication with her legal team as they prepare for the next phase of the proceedings.
The Senate Impeachment Court earlier authorized the issuance of subpoenas for financial records that prosecutors argued could be relevant to the articles of impeachment. Duterte's legal team, however, has maintained that they will respond through the proper legal channels while continuing to defend the Vice President throughout the proceedings.
As the impeachment trial moves forward, both the prosecution and the defense are expected to present additional evidence and arguments before the Senate Impeachment Court.
