AVC Title Bid Alive: SiPons Ousts Thailand

Alas Pilipinas' Sisi Rondina and Bernadeth Pons, also known as the "SiPons" duo, dropped Thailand's duo at the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Beach Tour Pingtung Open crown in Dapeng Bay, Chinese Taipei.

The SiPons was able to reach the semifinals after the breathtaking match against the Aussie veterans Jasmine Fleming and Elizabeth Achin with the scores of 21-18 and 33-31.

They were able to take down Thailand's Kongphopsarutawadee Worapeerachayakorn and Taravadee Naraphornrapat, earning scores of 21-17 and 26-24; they will take on Australia’s Olympians Taliqua Clancy and Stefie Fejes this Sunday afternoon.

The duo was also said to be preparing for the upcoming Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan, in September.
